In May of 2008, I earned my Master of Science in technical communication from Missouri University of Science and Technology, formerly University of Missouri-Rolla. I was able to finish all elements of this degree program in nine months and am the first person to bear that distinction.

I graduated cum laude in May, 2007 from Truman State University, Missouri's premiere public liberal arts and sciences institution, with a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature. I also earned a minor in French and worked for Information Technology Services.

Most of my responsibilities center around creating e-learning curriculum for the many products and services deployed by the Division of IT. In addition to creating Web-based tutorials and software documentation, I teach courses on Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite. Finally, I assist with project management and help maintain an active KnowledgeBase for technical questions at MU.

Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Centers

I worked with the other members of the MO PTAC team to assist small businesses in Missouri with various stages of the government procurement process. My assistance included providing bid leads and bid preparation as well as assistance obtaining special certifications from the federal and Missouri state governments. During my time with MO PTAC, my clients acknowledged our assistance in being awarded several hundred thousand dollars in contracts.

I provided general IT support and professional service to customers of the Information Technology Services department. Further, I trained new employees both on the job and in formal training sessions, for which I created print- and Web-based instruction materials.

I maintained the Web site for The Center for Teaching and Learning, served as a liaison to Information Technology Services, and assisted with advertising and event support around Truman's campus. I frequently conducted troubleshooting for computer issues in the Center's office and assisted other student associates with computer-related problems.
