Garet Marling is a technical writer in the Division of Information Technology at the University of Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Truman State University and a Master of Science in technical communication from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, formerly University of Missouri-Rolla. He is the first person to complete the latter program of study in a single academic year.
His favorite books include The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri, The Sword of Shannara by Terry Broks, and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. Additionally, Garet is the proud parent of a troublesome black Labrador Retriever (/something else) who just turned one year old.
